- In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
- Donor Egg & Gestational Carrier
- Fertility Preservation
-
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI)
Intrauterine Insemination (IUI) is may be used by lesbian couples where sperm from the a selected donor is placed directly into the intended parent’s uterus around the time of ovulation. This may be done in a natural (non-medicated) cycle or may be performed in a cycle using oral fertility medications.
-
In Vitro Fertilization (IVF)
IVF is the fertilization of an egg by sperm outside the body. Once fertilization has occurred and normal embryo development is confirmed, it is transferred to the uterus. Once implantation occurs, the remaining development of the embryo occurs naturally within the mother or gestational carrier. IVF therapy may be appropriate for either couples who are interested in using a sperm donor or reciprocal IVF, or male couples who are using donor eggs and a gestational carrier.
-
Donor Egg & Gestational Carrier
Male couples investing in medical assistance to become parents should first complete a semen analysis to assess the sperm. One or both partners may choose to use their sperm during this process. Next an egg donor will be selected. Egg donors may be anonymous and chosen from our egg bank or may be known to the couple. The Couples will also identify a gestational carrier (GC) to carry the pregnancy. ACRM will assist you with locating reputable gestational carrier agencies. Family building in this manner will use involve in vitro fertilization (IVF).
-
Fertility Preservation
ACRM has an active fertility preservation program which offers patients the opportunity to freeze eggs, sperm or embryos. Egg Freezing is an option for women in their early 30's who wish to preserve the option of future childbearing with their own eggs. Our transgender patients who are transitioning from female to male and women with medical conditions that put them as risk for running out of eggs earlier than usual are also good candidates for egg freezing.
